Hello music fan! This time we're not writing to tell you about the latest album release or about a new playlist that will help you discover the newest tunes. We need to talk about something that may be less exciting but no less important: the protection of your personal data. As you probably know, the General Data Protection Regulation recently came into effect. So we hope that you can take a few minutes out of your busy day to read the below message regarding our use of data. We know that you love music. We also know what music you love. And thanks to the data that you share with us, we can create a service that brings you the best personalized experience on the market, whether you are a paying subscriber or a freemium user. Respecting our customers' privacy is and has always been part of our DNA. A vast majority of the data we use to deliver you that experience is anonymised. And we want to be very clear: we have never made a business out of your personal data and don't intend to. We wanted to let you know that we have updated our Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. The key changes are the following: We have updated our subscription names to make them simpler and more clear for our users. (For example, 'Premium+' is now 'Deezer Premium') We have clarified the information regarding the portability of our service, to make it clear that users can access the content available on Deezer wherever they are We have clarified what our customer support service does and how to get in touch We have changed the law and jurisdiction applicable to the Terms of Use in favour of the consumer, to the consumer's country of residence We also want to make it as easy as possible for you to manage your data. That includes seeing what we know about you, making it very easy to tell us if you want us to delete your data, or to get it from us as and when you want. To do this, we are developing a number of new tools, which will soon be available on the Deezer platform.
